& Bank will never use an open source for any of its product (interface) as it is against “BS5577″ Compliance . ASP may use same code for different clients (bank) and for different products ( ATM, CVM, mobile or online interface) but they are not allowed to freely distribute their code.

You’re making one big mistake here, as I said before, Open source doesn’t mean open access.
Codes are there, you can work on them as much as you want, but lol, you can’t just ask for the ATM machine, and start working on it, because the ATM machine is no more a code, and the ATM machine is the hardware to protect the code.

Clear this thing, Open Source means you take the code, and work as a coder on it, if you’ve the resources work as a developer, if you’ve the hardware, work as a tester, you’re free to access the code issued under GPL.

Nothing is perfectly secured , Linux community never claims to be secure, they claim to be “more secure” and security patches are basically made way before anyone finds time to exploit it. You see the developers are in most cases the one who find the bugs, plus these patches are seriously made for things like exception handling and assumptions.

Linux is more secure, because it is able to identify, which part of system should be accessed by which category of user, this is simple.
If you grant a newcomer with su properties, seriously no one can protect, but Linux never allows it on the first part unless forced.
On the contrary, this happens the most obviously in Windows, the administrator is most probably the only user in most cases, and the limited account is so limited that nobody wants to make one !

Again, the ATM machine is not a code, the firmware inside it has the code, Open Source talks about the code, not the hardware, you simply cannot give open access to the hardware.
When we talk about ATM machine running on OpenSource ,we mean the code of the software, which is easily available to the community.

I want to run a company which uses an accounting software, now I pretty google search gives me some scripts for doing that, but since I’m a newbie, I cannot handle this, so I hire a code, he doesn’t code anything, he simply takes that script, modifies it according to me, compiles it ,and then install and connects it to all the peers.

please understand that transaction is not OS based
So until and unless the attacker is the developer/assembler of that ATM machine, he cannot take the money out from it.
Please revise the post. I am unable to understand most of sentences.

First of all, I’d love to say, that user friendly is a tag basically associated with the GUI not the easiness of mess up things, so I don’t understand, how making something more user friendly makes it more insecure , that literally vague !

Well, then you’re clearly misunderstanding the power of Open Source,
how many workers are probably for the OS of Windows ? let’s make it large say 5000.
What about any Linux distros ? you can’t even imagine

A bug found in Linux, is more probable to patched sooner than any of the windows counterpart,
beside you’d find millions of people working on bug, when you’re open source rather than those confidential workers !

and any bank running any atm, won’t let a road running coder as the programmer for those softwares, there’s always a thing called trusted enterprises
A code is just not bullt by a single person, but it’s tested, retested, bugged out, and there are series of bug detection test, before it’s even planned to release !

When Open source combine with Free softwares, then we call it FOSS

want an example ? RHL, is a nasty big company, which gives FOSS stuff, but it is supported by major corps , because RHL is their backbone !

Another One ? you said about R&D ? Remember Linux is developing, infact nowdays most of the so called windows features are inherited from the research done by the linux community, if there wouldn’t have been any R&D , Linux would have been where it was in 90s, but that’s not happening dude !

well he biggest atm scam was over softwares .01% of every transition will go to the account of the attacker and its a truth not a fact

About Security Patches: The word ALMOST in the post makes a difference of around 10 to 15 packages in a kernel.
And the difference that each patch make is, a patch in the form of a binary takes almost a week of testing whereas directly running the diff file makes it better to understand what changes have been made and what is necessary for your usage plus the diff is a week faster than windows binaries

The banks provide you a card that has a magnetic strip on the back that it reads information about your bank account. It uses this information to look up your information and decide what to do next. Usually this is to have you enter your password. After that, it’s up to the program to decide what to do next. AND NOT ON THE INFORMATION OF MAGNETIC STRIP.

the first thing they do is to disable hidden attribute then they remove folder option

1). Go to any folder.In that on the top menu go to Tools–> Folder Options, which will be beside File, Edit, View, Favourites.

2). A window pops up after you click on folder options.In that window go to View tab and select the option Show hidden files and folders.Now uncheck the option Hide protected Operating system files.Click Ok

3). Now Open your drives (By right click and select Explore. Don’t double click!) Delete autorun.inf and MS32DLL.dll.vbs or MS32DLL.dll (use Shift+Delete as it deletes files forever.) in all drives include Handy Drive and Floppy disk.

4). Open folder C:\WINDOWS to delete MS32DLL.dll.vbs or MS32DLL.dll (Use Shift+Delete ) 5). Go to start –> Run –> Regedit and the Registry editor will open

6). Now navigate in the left pane as follows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE –> Software –> Microsoft –> Windows –> Current Version –> Run .Now delete the entry MS32DLL (Use Delete key on keyboard)

7). Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER –> Software –> Microsoft –> Internet Explorer –> Main and delete the entry Window Title “Hacked by Godzilla”

8). Now open the group policy editor by typing gpedit.msc in Start –> run and pressing enter.

9). Go to User Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> System. Double Click on entry Turn Off Autoplay then Turn Off Autoplay Properties will display.Do as follows: Select Enabled

10). Select All drives and Click OK

11). Now go to start –> Run and type msconfig there and press Enter.A system configuration utility dialogue will open.

12). Go to startup tab in it and uncheck MS32DLL .Now click Ok and when the system configuration utility asks for restart ,click on exit without restart.

13). Now go to Tools –> Folder Options on the top menu of some folder again and select the Do not show Hidden files and check Hide operating system files.

14). Go to your recyclable bin and empty it to prevent any possiblity of MS322DLL.dll.vbs lying there.

Now restart your PC once and you can now open your hard disk drives by double clicking on them
