hey good post , I had read this somewhere earlier but I trusted it only when I found it on hacker's library!!!!

1 suggestion :
why dont you add a few more tags in this post like for example "faster" ,"internet", "increase"
or maybe you can add a feature so that visitors can add tags, just like youtube but that might backfire and lead to spamming so its your decision.

@ Rajpandian..

IDM is better than DAP.. because.. IDM divides the file upto 16 parts.. whereas DAP can't upto this much.. resulting use of total bandwidth / faster download.

finally jst try both, check the difference & continue with whichever suits u..

here are few more settings which can enhance browsing speed of FIREFOX..

Double Click on the following settings and put in the numbers below -
for the true / false Boolean - they’ll change when you double click.

Code:
browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs – true
network.http.max-connections – 48
network.http.max-connections-per-server – 16
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy – 8
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server – 4
network.http.pipelining – true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests – 100
network.http.proxy.pipelining – true
network.http.request.timeout – 301

hope this helps..

Download managers help in utilizing the bandwidth to its best, and IDM is the best known download manager, hence IDM is mentioned (for downloading files)
